Washington, DC, March 31, 2015—On May 8, the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, the skies over the National Mall will be filled with one of the most spectacular and diverse arrays of World War II aircraft to be flown at any one time. Organizers of the Arsenal of Democracy: World War II Victory Capitol Flyover outlined plans for the celebration in the nation’s capital at a press conference today in the World War II Gallery of the National Air and Space Museum in Washington. The Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force will be sending our Hellcat and our Bearcat to Washington D.C. to participate in the celebration.
April 20, 2015 (UPDATE) – Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Southern California Wing’s Hellcat and Bearcat will not be participating in the Arsenal of Democracy flyover.
